I like problems where the constraints are real and the feedback is honest: a query that's too slow, a pipeline that won't balance, a deploy that broke something it shouldn't have touched.

I'm a full-stack software and data engineer with a track record of shipping production systems. Most of my work has been at the intersection of infrastructure and data: building out k8s and Flux, your typical ETL pipelines with playwright and all the mess in between etc. Generally automating what used to be labourious.

These days I spend a lot of time on Kubernetes and Flux, but my background is math and data science. Training CNNs for quality control, designing event-sourced architectures, and of course building LLM-powered applications. I write TypeScript and Python for daily work, Rust and Go when the machine needs to be careful or I can find a good enough excuse.

Away from the keyboard I'm usually reading up on the next thing to learn, tinkering with homelab infrastructure, or out with Zellie.

    Software Engineer / We Are Impress

    Full ownership of production infrastructure across AWS EC2 and DigitalOcean Kubernetes clusters. Deliver frontend work for National Intermodal, SunRice, and Stone & Chalk. Build internal diagnostics tooling with TypeScript compiler API, CodeGraph and Babel.

  2. 2025 - 2026

    Contract Software Engineer / CCAFP

    Designed and deployed an LLM-automated superannuation application with SolidJS, Tailwind, and PostgreSQL. Integrated AWS Bedrock for inference. Deployed to Kubernetes with Flux GitOps.

  3. Nov 2024 - Feb 2026

    Lead Developer / Full-Stack Data Engineer / Gforce Category Solutions

    Designed and implemented database infrastructure, including the deployment of CDC PostgreSQL/ClickHouse. Easily cutting costs by $2,000/month. Built analytics dashboard, CNN quality control, and playwright ETL pipelines. Automated reporting saving well over 20 hrs/week.

    ML Researcher & Instructor / ICNS / WSU / CBA

    Neuromorphic computing research at ICNS. Developed and delivered a third-year Time Series Analysis curriculum at WSU. Delivered data science training at Commonwealth Bank.
